About the Program
The Rock County Agriculture Ambassador Program was developed to bring local agriculture awareness closer to home with today’s needs and demands.
This program was developed as an educational resource for students and consumers. We are continuing to focus our efforts toward the next generation, while promoting the importance and a better understanding about local food production.
This program meets the demand of the Rock County agricultural community, school system and the public for accurate information regarding Rock County agriculture and Wisconsin in general.
Our Mission & Goals
Educate our youth to understand and identify where our food and by-products come from.
Raise awareness of the impact of Rock County agriculture.
Promote local agriculture at Rock County events including:
Dairy Breakfast
Porkfest
Steak Cookout
Rock County 4-H Fair
About Amber Burke
Ag Ambassador
Burke grew up on a beef cattle farm in southeast, Wisconsin, where she actively participated in various agricultural activities including 4-H and FFA. She holds a B.S. degree in Agriculture Journalism from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and is also a licensed substitute teacher in the state of Wisconsin. Burke’s most recent role was as a reporter for the Wisconsin State Farmer newspaper.
In the classroom
Amber take a hands-on approach to teaching Rock County youth about agriculture. From farm-to- table discussions, making ice cream, identifying corn products, watching videos and more, students get involved, making connections on how agriculture impacts their everyday lives.
